What is a scientist doing inside an art gallery? 🔻English translation below🔻
I’ve recently seen a fellow scientist and #sciartist complain about the backlash she received over sharing her #sciart and how science shouldn’t be mixed with art and that scientists have rigid minds they cannot think creatively. Even though to be a successful scientist, you need to possess creative thinking skills to think of different solutions to problems.
I
Many neuroscientific and psychological studies have shown that creative and linear thinking are not mutually exclusive and exist together within us. Studies have also shown that convergent (scientific) and divergent (artistic) thinking styles are used both by those that consider themselves scientists and those that consider themselves artists. It turns out that this is a mere stereotype that scientists have to be linear thinkers and that science and art don’t go hand in hand.

Albert Einstein even said: “The greatest scientists are artists as well". Who is your favourite #artist or #sciartist? Link them in the comments below! I’ve tagged a few of my favourites in the photo above.
